CALICO AHS HOW TO
How to adopt: The Arizona Humane Society’s Virtual Matchmaking Adoptions by appointment is available to place pets with their forever families. Friendly, loving and playful, Rock Lee would do best meeting all the other pups in the home to ensure it is a good fit with his sometimes shy personality. However, he has made great strides in learning how to trust people and has enjoyed interactions with AHS Behavior Team members each day to keep learning and growing into the doggo he was meant to be. Rock Lee is a sweet pup who can be nervous at times due to lack of socialization at his previous household. My mammy'd always have a pile o' hides tuh trade with 'em fer calico prints n trinkets, n' sech-like, but mos'ly fo' calico prints. It was also found that Rock Lee was covered in ticks and once in the shelter’s animal trauma hospital, he was discovered to have Tick Fever - a condition caused by ticks that will need to be kept an eye on by his future veterinarian to ensure it does not progress.

Upon arrival, AHS investigators were able to intake the American Pit Bull Terrier mix into its care due to no medical treatment and dangerous conditions. Thanks to an anonymous tip from a Good Samaritan, Arizona Humane Society Cruelty Investigators learned about a pet who was living in direct sunlight with no shade or water – an unfortunate and avoidable situation that can quickly lead to overheating and even death for pets if not taken care of.

At 4 years old, Rock Lee has already been through quite a bit.
